Welcome to WAVE OnlineWave May News LetterWAVE ANNUAL FUNDRAISER - BENEFIT CONCERT, AUCTION AND BBQWAVE would like to extend its appreciation to Gary Anton and the Bradfordville Blues Club for hosting our 3rd annual fund-raiser at the Bradfordville Blues Club. Special thanks to Gene Deckerhoff for his outstanding work in hosting our auction and to Chuck and Linda Husbands for the great Bar-B-Que and help managing the auction. The food was wonderful and enjoyed by everyone in attendance. We also want to thank all the musicians who donated their time and talents, the music was awesome: Charles Atkins, Del Suggs, Iris Melton, James Butler Band, Bottom Dollar Boys and Brett Wellman.Many, many thanks to our SPONSORS for their financial support, without your support WAVE would not be able to serve the developmentally disabled members of our community. Also, appreciation is extended to all those businesses and individuals who provided auction items. In addition, special thanks to all our volunteers who assisted with tent raising, food prep and serving, parking and other functions related to the event. Click here to visit the web page Customer Service Survey ResultsCalendar 2008Purpose, Philosophy and GoalsThe Workshop for Adult Vocational Enrichment provides opportunities for social activities, community involvement, and lifeskills training activities for adults and teens with developmental disabilities. Activities are designed to serve a broad range of abilities and preferences. Social activities include dances, swim parties, bowling, and hayrides, to name a few. Lifeskills training includes learning laundry skills by meeting weekly at a Laundromat and washing linens for local businesses as well as purchasing items at a grocery store which are then used at social activities. Our performing chorus meets weekly to practice and performs at various community events. Our goal is to provide opportunities for involvement as well as the support and assistance needed to make the activities accessible and a successful experience for our clients. It is our philosophy to provide services that enhance the ability of each individual to be an integral part of the community and to foster friendships so as to take part in a rich social life that most of us take for granted.BOARD OF DIRECTORSOCTOBER 2007
